As much as I’d like to see various riders win it there’s something about his mood, the course and his palmares which say this could be his time.There’s a great saying that nobody remembers second, and this may be his best chance of taking the win this time as many of the favourites could end up watching him go up the road.
The course seems to suit the tough riders, those capeable of being punchy and reacting to repeated attacks.
He looks pretty relaxed and I hope he turns the silver of the past few years into Gold. In my ideal finishing group I’d love to see Fabian Cancellara, Cadel Evans, Pippo Pozzato, Phillipe Gilbert and Kolobnev.
So keep an eye out for this number, as it may be the first one across the line tomorrow.
